nowl specializes in the use of nudges in a commercial environment, followed by analysis of the collected data.
Nudging refers to a collection of techniques that respond to various heuristics or automatic ways in which people make choices. Nudges are therefore “subtle pushes” that stimulate the desired behavior by making the example intended or more attractive, or indicating that the supposed behavior occurs.
Nudging respects people’s freedom of choice, is relatively simple and cheap to implement. It requires little reflection from the audience and can therefore enable people to adopt the wanted behavior in the short term.
In recent years, nudging has been increasingly picked up by governments and other social organizations as the alternative to stimulating and regulating behavior through economic measures and legislation.
